Health and Safety

A successful, safe and enjoyable event is one where the risks are managed effectively, not avoided.

To ensure you have minimised any potential risks associated with your event, you first have to identify them, evaluate their potential of happening and then decide how you will manage them during the event.

As an organiser, it’s important to understand your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act. It may feel a bit daunting and a little bit scary, but done well, it can used in the event planning process to create a much better experience for your event participants.

To help you become more efficient in your event planning, The Organiser offers resources that will provide advice and guidance, including templates and real event examples to follow, all designed to make organising easier.

To download any of the resources below, click on the document and follow the instructions.

As Covid-19 has placed a requirement for event organisers and venues to support contract tracing, the Organiser wanted to help by providing a link to the NZ Covid Tracer Poster Site, where you can create a QR code for your event.
