New Zealand’s Events Association lead the way

Since the start of the pandemic, the New Zealand Events Association have been engaging with the Government on behalf of the events industry.

On May 28, they released a press relief which clarified what organisers are able to do under level 2. In it, they confirmed that professionally organised events could have multiple groups of 100, plus workers at the same event.

The news will be well received by the industry as it waits for an opportunity to get back to normal.

NZEA have really stepped during the pandemic, working inconjunction with EVANZ and other event related associations to argue the case for organisers and their suppliers. Events were the first to suffer when measures were put in place to limit the spread of Covid 19, they will no doubt be the last to feel relief as measures are removed.

With numbers of active cases in NZ dropping to almost zero, the industry will be hoping it won’t be long before we move to level 1.
